On 15 October 1996, life changed irrevocably when my twin sister Jenny died aged 27, after her clothing caught fire. Suddenly the disabled twin became the missing twin.
Born ten weeks premature, Jenny had cerebral palsy. This is the story of her growing up disabled, her setbacks and triumphs, her riding the wave of the Disability Rights Movement. Twenty years after the horrible accident, I revisit our life together and my life since as a lone twin.

The Thundersley Invacar
If anything, the Thundersley Invacar is a symbol of how far Disability rights have come in the last 50 years. Today marketing an adapted car as Invacar (short for ‘Invalid Carriage’) would be shot down at the first focus group.
